Never thought a minivan could have rockin' styling? Honda begs to differ with the newly redesigned 2018 Odyssey, and Leith Honda Raleigh is inclined to agree with the automaker—this is one attractive minivan. Add in a bevy of new features—everything from entertainment options to easier access to the third row—and what's not to love? Here's what we found most exciting about the Honda's newest Odyssey.
Attractive styling
Taking a few design cues from the 2017 Civic, the 2018 Odyssey features a solid silver bar on the grille that connects the Honda emblem to the headlights. It also receives C-shaped taillights like the Civic with another solid silver bar, although this one simply runs across the back of the vehicle. Other refreshed design features include the floating D-pillar, door handles that are slightly more spread out than on the 2017 model, and a softened "lightning bolt" belt line (those nifty creases on the Odyssey's side panels).
More than just skin-deep
Inside the Odyssey, you'll find a vibrant 7-inch digital instrument cluster, as well as a bevy of other technological and comfort features we're excited about, including:
- CabinTalk—allows the driver to talk to the passengers through the vehicle's speakers and headphones
- CabinWatch—allows front passengers to keep an eye on those in the back by monitoring a camera feed on the 8-inch screen in the console
- A playlist function—up to 8 people can make personalized music choices and upload them to the audio system
- Backseat entertainment—a 10.2-inch, ceiling-mounted screen that can stream PBS Kids, Spotify®, and more over the vehicle's Wi-Fi or other internet sources
- 2nd-row Magic Seat®—seats which slide from one side of the van to the other, allowing easy access to the 3rd row, even past car seats
